Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a night shift Emergency Department position at a freestanding ER, requiring a minimum of 2 years of ED experience and an active SC or compact RN license.

Details

• Work setting is a freestanding Emergency Department with 6 staffed beds
• Night shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts (7p–7a)
• Required to work every other weekend
• No on-call responsibilities
• May be floated to sister MUSC Health facilities (Columbia NE or DT) within scope
• Patient ratios are team-based
• Charting is performed in Epic (experience required)
• Free parking available on site

Requirements

• Active SC RN license or compact RN license required; candidates with a pending SC license may be considered but must have the license in hand before start
• Current AHA certifications required: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, and PALS
• Minimum 2 years of ED RN experience required
• Trauma Level I or II experience preferred
• Previous charge nurse experience required
• Epic EMR experience required
• Two professional references from a supervisor within the past 2 years required for consideration
• Driver's license and SSN required for consideration

Additional Information

• First-time travelers are not accepted for this position
• Previous permanent or PRN staff at any MUSC facility must have been separated from the system for at least 1 year before being eligible to work as a traveler
• Local candidates (within 60 miles of the facility) may be considered on a case-by-case basis; non-local candidates are prioritized
• All requested time off (RTO) must be disclosed upfront; approval is based on facility needs
• Completion of facility modules is required prior to start date
• Royal blue scrubs required
• Travelers should be aware that during hurricane season (June–November), all staff and contractors may be assigned to emergency response teams; peak activity months are August and September
