Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a 13-week LTC/SNF travel assignment in a geriatric behavioral health setting, requiring a SD or compact RN license and BSN.

Details

• Post-acute care setting in a 55-bed LTC/SNF facility
• Geriatric patient population including residents with dementia, schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, and paranoia — facility runs a dedicated behavioral health program
• Day shift schedule: 6:00 AM – 6:30 PM (12-hour shifts)
• Block scheduling with every 3rd weekend rotation
• Holiday coverage required on a rotating basis
• Day shift patient ratio is approximately 1:23; overnight ratio is approximately 1:45
• Med aide support provided from 6:00 AM – 10:00 AM; sole nurse coverage from 10:00 PM – 6:00 AM
• Charting is primarily completed on the day shift, including skilled and COVID-related documentation
• EMR: PointClickCare (PCC)
• No on-call or call-back responsibilities
• Work week runs Sunday through Saturday

Requirements

• Active SD RN license or compact RN license currently in hand
• BSN required
• Minimum 1 year of RN experience required
• Current BLS certification required
• Geriatric psych or LTC psych experience strongly preferred
• PointClickCare (PCC) experience beneficial given primary charting role on day shift

Additional Information

• Orientation includes a facility tour, competency evaluations, and the opportunity to shadow 1–2 shifts
• Candidates living within 80 miles of the facility may be subject to a local pay rate adjustment
• If facility-provided housing is used, local pay rates apply
• Candidates must provide a minimum 2-week notice if ending the assignment early
• Geri psych or LTC behavioral health experience is a plus given the facility's specialized behavioral program
