American Traveler is seeking a Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) with CVOR experience for a 13-week travel contract at a hospital cardiovascular OR unit in Salem, VA.

Details

• Hospital CVOR unit with 2 OR suites located on the 2nd floor of the main building
• Unit staffed by 3 RNs and 3 CSTs with a 1:1 patient ratio
• Day shift schedule, 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM, all staff on day shift
• Typical procedures include CABG, thoracotomy, endovascular AAA repair, valve replacement, and pacemaker implantation
• EMR system: Meditech
• May be required to float to the general OR
• Weekday, weekend, and holiday call required
• 13-week contract

Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years of CVOR experience required, with active experience within the last 6 months
• CST certification required; state license required if applicable (Virginia requires licensure)
• ACLS and BLS certifications required (AHA or ARC accepted; must not expire within the first 30 days of the start date)
• Scrubbing experience preferred
• US SSN and DOB required for consideration — no Canadian SSN accepted
• One professional reference required (two required if currently residing in Florida or Missouri)
• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility — no local candidates will be considered
• No gaps in work history of 90 days or more within the past 12 months

• Ideal candidates are flexible, knowledgeable, and self-motivated
• Light blue scrubs are required and will be provided by the facility
• Candidates should be comfortable working in a fast-paced cardiovascular surgical environment with complex cases
