American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for an Intermediate Care (PCU/Telemetry) position requiring at least 2 years of experience, Level 1 trauma teaching facility background, and Epic proficiency.

Details

• Miller 4 PCU/Telemetry unit within a large academic Level 1 trauma teaching hospital
• Patient population includes cardiology patients with post-cath, STEMI, and structural heart cases
• 12-hour day shifts, Monday through Sunday with no block scheduling
• Minimum every other weekend availability required; scheduling adjusted to meet unit and patient care needs
• Floating is required; travelers float first within the central pool PCU units
• Epic EMR used; recent experience required
• 26-week contract

Requirements

• Active VT or Compact RN license required; NY license candidates will be considered with proof of pending licensure
• Current AHA BLS and ACLS certifications required
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification required prior to start
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• Experience in a large Level 1 trauma teaching facility required
• Cardiology unit experience including post-cath, STEMI, and structural heart patients required
• Epic experience within the past 2 years required — non-negotiable
• Two professional references from a Nurse Manager and/or Supervisor required; at least one from within the past 6 months and one from within the past year
• SSN and DOB required for consideration

Additional Information

• Bi-weekly orientations begin on Mondays; next available orientation is 4/20
• Public transportation is not accessible in this area — a personal or rental vehicle with all-season or snow tires (November through April) is strongly recommended
• All employment gaps over 90 days must be explained
• Candidates living 51–100 miles from the facility and those living within 50 miles are both eligible to apply
