Description

American Traveler is hiring a Psychiatric RN for a 13-week night shift contract at an adult inpatient psych unit, with at least 1 year of experience and an active WA or compact RN license required.

Details

• Adult inpatient psychiatric unit (1 North Adult Psych) in a 226-bed non-profit community hospital with 18 psych beds
• Patient population includes diagnoses such as schizophrenia, schizoaffective disorder, bipolar disorder, major depressive disorder, suicidal ideation, and dementia with behavioral symptoms
• EMR: Epic (experience expected)
• Equipment includes Alaris IV pumps and Omnicell medication dispensing
• 12-hour night shifts, 36 hours per week
• Weekend rotation required: 2 weekends per month
• Floating to med/surg units required
• No on-call responsibilities

Requirements

• Active WA state RN license or compact RN license recognized in WA required
• Current BLS certification required
• Minimum 1 year of psychiatric nursing experience
• Proficiency in psychiatric assessments and de-escalation techniques required
• Experience with physical restraints required
• Two professional references from a supervisor or above (charge nurse, manager, director, etc.) required prior to start; one reference accepted at time of consideration

• Responsibilities include performing psychiatric assessments, de-escalation interventions, and management of patients requiring physical restraints
• Any scrub color is acceptable
