American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a remote Telephone Triage Call Center position requiring a CA RN license and at least 2 years of triage or relevant nursing experience.

Details

• Fully remote position — high-speed internet and a private office space are required
• Telephone triage call center environment supporting an outpatient health system
• Responsibilities span patient triage, clinical decision support, and remote physician support
• Patient interaction occurs via phone and chat tools; role is primarily sedentary with headset use
• Epic EMR experience preferred
• Evening shift (5x8): 3:00 PM – 11:00 PM and Day shift (5x8): 12:00 PM – 8:30 PM available
• Fast-paced environment; some overnight/grave shifts may be quieter

Requirements

• Active CA RN license required; UT or Compact RN license also required — UT-specific license is not required separately if Compact applies
• Current BLS certification required (AHA or American Red Cross only, must be in hand)
• Minimum 2 years of nursing experience required
• Telephone triage, outpatient primary care, or ED/urgent care experience strongly preferred
• Strong clinical assessment, critical thinking, and patient teaching skills required
• Excellent phone communication and customer service skills required
• Epic EMR experience preferred
• 2 supervisory references from within the past 2 years required for consideration
• 7-year work history verification required

Additional Information

• Assesses patient needs and triages callers to the appropriate level of care using established nursing protocols and physician input
• Provides clinical telephone support including prescription renewals, referrals, and nursing follow-up activities
• Assists physician partners with message management and EMR communications
• Candidates who have previously worked with this health system must have been separated for at least 1 year before returning as a traveler
• Only one holiday RTO request will be approved for the duration of the contract
• Local candidates within a 50-mile radius of the facility location are accepted
