Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Surgical ICU (SICU) position requiring Epic proficiency and high-acuity critical care skills including transplant recovery and CRRT experience.

Details

• High-acuity SICU setting within a large hospital system
• Patient population includes general post-op surgical recovery, transplant recovery (liver, heart, lungs, kidney, pancreas), and complex critical care cases
• Patient ratio of 1:2
• Floating required to other ICUs and Step-Down Units (SDUs)
• Preferred experience with pulmonary artery (PA) catheters and intra-aortic balloon pumps (IABPs)
• Experience with Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy (CRRT) required
• CVICU-level skills utilized, including post-op CABG, valve replacement/repair, aortic dissection, IABP, and PA catheter management
• Night shift: 3x12-hour shifts, 19:15–07:15
• Epic EMR experience required
• Block scheduling requests are not accommodated

Requirements

• Active LA RN license or Compact RN license currently in hand
• Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke Scale — all certifications must be through the American Heart Association (AHA)
• Minimum experience in high-acuity ICU nursing required
• Epic EMR proficiency required

Additional Information

• Candidates must reside 65+ miles from the facility to be eligible — local candidates are not accepted
• Upon accepting an assignment, the unit manager may assign you to an Emergency Team with an expectation to remain at the facility or serve on a relief team during emergency events
• Candidates uncomfortable with emergency team obligations should not apply for this role
• Any requested time off (RTO) must be disclosed and discussed during the interview process
• 13-week contract
