Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Surgical ICU (SICU) position requiring Epic proficiency and the ability to manage high-acuity surgical patients at a 1:2 ratio.

Details

• High-acuity Surgical ICU (SICU) setting within a large hospital system
• Patient ratio of 1:2
• Patient population includes general post-op surgical recovery, transplant recovery (liver, heart, lungs, kidney, pancreas), and cardiovascular cases such as post-op CABG, valve replacement/repair, aortic dissection, IABP, and PA catheter management
• Floating required to other ICUs and Step-Down Units (SDUs)
• Day shift: 3x12-hour shifts, 6:45 AM – 7:15 PM
• Epic EMR experience required
• Experience with pulmonary artery (PA) catheters and intra-aortic balloon pumps (IABP) preferred
• Experience with Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy (CRRT) required

Requirements

• Active LA RN license or Compact RN license currently in hand
• Current AHA certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
• Prior high-acuity ICU nursing experience required
• Epic EMR experience required
• Must reside 65+ miles from the facility to be eligible for this position
• CRRT experience required

Additional Information

• Upon accepting an assignment, the unit manager may designate travelers to an Emergency Team, requiring them to remain at the facility during or after an emergency event or serve on a relief team
• Candidates who are not comfortable with potential emergency team assignments should not apply
• All requested time off (RTO) must be disclosed and discussed during the interview process
• Block scheduling requests will not be accommodated
• 13-week contract
