Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Surgical ICU (SICU) position requiring Epic proficiency and high-acuity ICU experience, including post-op surgical care and transplant recovery.

Details

• High-acuity SICU setting within a large medical center
• Patient population includes general post-op surgical recovery, transplant recovery (liver, heart, lungs, kidney, pancreas), and patients requiring CVICU-level care including post-op CABG, valve replacement/repair, and aortic dissection
• Patient ratio of 1:2
• Floating required to other ICUs and Step-Down Units (SDUs)
• Day shift, 3x12-hour shifts (6:45 AM – 7:15 PM)
• Epic EMR experience required
• Experience with PA catheters and balloon pumps preferred
• Experience with Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy (CRRT)
• Experience with IABP and PA catheters in a CVICU context

Requirements

• Active Louisiana RN license or Compact RN license currently in hand
• Current AHA certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
• Minimum prior high-acuity ICU experience required
• Epic EMR proficiency required
• Must reside 65+ miles from the facility to be eligible for this position

Additional Information

• Provides post-operative and critical care to high-acuity surgical and transplant patients
• Block scheduling requests are not accepted
• Any requested time off (RTO) must be disclosed and discussed during the interview process
• In the event of a declared emergency, travelers may be assigned to an Emergency Team and expected to remain on-site until the event passes or serve as part of a relief team
• By accepting this assignment, candidates acknowledge and agree to report as directed by their unit manager during emergency events
