Description

American Traveler is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) for a night shift position at an acute care facility, requiring Epic EMR experience and Level 1 Trauma experience.

Details

• 13-week contract, 36 hours per week on 12-hour night shifts (7pm–7am)
• 3 days per week schedule
• Every other weekend and holiday coverage required
• Respiratory Care department within an acute care hospital setting

Requirements

• Associate's Degree or Certificate of Completion in Respiratory Therapy
• Active Respiratory Care License required (temp license accepted if applicable)
• Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, NRP, and RRT
• Epic EMR experience required
• Level 1 Trauma experience required
• Minimum 1 year of relevant respiratory therapy experience
• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible

Additional Information

• Responsible for respiratory therapy, ventilator management, oxygen administration, airway management, ECG, and non-invasive cardiology
• Performs intubations and tracheostomy tube changes as assigned
• Conducts ventilator checks every 2 hours and as needed, managing all modes of ventilation and weaning modalities
• Performs patient bedside lab testing including ABGs and associated quality control
• Responds immediately to emergency situations, RRT calls, and codes
• Provides patient and family education, including home care instructions and arrangement of home oxygen and related equipment
• Participates in patient rounds with physicians when assigned and collaborates with the broader care team on patient care issues
• Candidates who have previously been on assignment with this health system may not return until a 6-month break in service has been completed if 1 continuous year of assignment has been reached
• RTO is not to exceed 7 total days per 13-week contract
