American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Cardiac Cath Lab position in Rapid City, SD, requiring a minimum of 2 years of experience in coronary, structural heart, complex PCI, and peripheral cases, with an active SD or compact RN license.

Details

• Work setting is a hospital-based Cardiac Cath Lab with 2 cath lab rooms and 2 hybrid peripheral/OR rooms
• Patient population includes coronary artery disease, STEMI, cardiogenic shock, complex total occlusions, valvular disease, renal disease, carotid stenosis, peripheral stenosis, thrombosis, limb salvage, and Impella/LVAD insertions
• 1:1 nurse-to-patient ratio
• 12-hour night shifts, 36 hours per week
• Weekend rotation every 4th weekend
• On-call required 1–2 days per week from 1630–0600, and every 4th weekend from 1630 Friday through 0600 Monday
• Charting systems: Epic (required), Epic Cupid (preferred), Alaris, and Omnicell
• No floating required

Requirements

• Active RN license — South Dakota license or compact RN license required
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Minimum 2 years of Cath Lab experience with coronary, structural heart, complex PCI, and peripheral cases required
• Proficiency with devices including IABP, Impella, Rotoblator, and Penumbra
• Skills required: critical patient assessment, vasoactive and sedation drug administration, sterile technique, air management, laser and lithotripsy atherectomy, and peripheral IV skills
• Epic EMR experience required
• 2 professional references dated within the past year required for consideration
• DOB and SSN required for consideration

Additional Information

• First-time travelers will be considered if they have strong experience in coronary, structural heart, complex PCI, and peripheral cases
• Candidates must reside at least 100 miles from the facility to be eligible
• Former permanent staff must wait 1 full year before returning as a traveler
• Charge nurse coverage available Monday–Friday, 0600–1630
• Orientation consists of 4 days at 10-hour shifts
• Approximately 1 holiday may be required during the assignment
• Time off requests must be approved by the manager
• Procedural scrubs are provided by the facility
• Free parking is available on-site
