American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a PACU position at an outpatient surgery center specializing in plastic surgery, requiring a CA RN license and a minimum of 2 years of PACU experience.

Details

• Outpatient ambulatory surgery center specializing in plastic surgery
• PACU unit covering Phase I and Phase II recovery of post-general anesthesia patients
• Patient ratio of 1:2:1
• Surgery case types include plastics (abdominoplasty, breast augmentation), ENT, and general surgery
• Day shift schedule: 5x8-hour shifts, with shift times ranging from 6:00–14:00 or 9:00–17:00
• No weekend or holiday shifts required
• Epic EMR experience preferred
• Local candidates are accepted if residing within 50 miles of the facility

Requirements

• Active CA RN license required
• Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and PALS (must be AHA or American Red Cross)
• Minimum 2 years of PACU experience required
• Epic EMR experience preferred
• Trauma Level I or II experience preferred
• Previous charge nurse experience preferred
• 2 supervisory references from within the past year required for consideration
• 7-year work history verification required

Additional Information

• Responsibilities include post-anesthesia recovery care, patient assessment, nursing care plan development and implementation, medication administration, and patient/family education
• Skills utilized include airway management (extubation, LMA/ET, oral/nasal airway placement), dysrhythmia recognition and management, malignant hyperthermia protocol, pain assessment and management, and conscious sedation/MAC/general anesthesia recovery
• Former employees or travelers must have been away for at least 1 year before returning
• Only one holiday RTO request will be approved for the duration of the contract
• Candidates must disclose any background issues or DUIs prior to consideration
