American Traveler is hiring an experienced OR RN for a Pediatric OR position in Dover-Foxcroft, ME, requiring at least 2 years of OR experience and the ability to circulate all cases independently and work in PACU.

Details

• Day shift: 7:00am–4:30pm, 36 hours/week
• Small community OR setting with 3 OR suites and 1 GI Endoscopy room
• Case types include General, Orthopedic, Gynecological, Obstetric, Endoscopic, Urology, Podiatry, and Pain Clinic procedures across all age groups
• Approximately 8–10 cases performed per day
• Nurse must be able to circulate all OR cases independently and work in PACU
• PreOp experience required; must be comfortable monitoring patients on cardiac monitor
• EMR: Cerner (experience preferred for first-time travelers)
• Call requirement in place; details discussed during interview
• Weekend call rotation required
• Holiday call coverage is a possibility
• RTO subject to manager approval

Requirements

• Active RN license — Maine (ME) or Compact license required
• Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and PALS
• Minimum 2 years of OR experience required
• Must be able to circulate all OR cases independently
• PreOp and PACU experience required
• Must be comfortable monitoring patients on a cardiac monitor
• Cerner EMR experience preferred
• Must have a permanent address 100+ miles south/southwest of Bangor, ME (489 State St., Bangor, ME 04401)
• Must not have previously worked at any Northern Light Health Hospital in a permanent capacity
• Two professional references required within the past year; at least one must be from a supervisor, manager, or director (charge nurses accepted; peer references not accepted)
• Full SSN, Driver's License, and copies of all certifications required for consideration
• Flu vaccination required for employment eligibility

• First-time travelers may be considered if they have strong OR experience and Cerner proficiency
• Manager interviews are conducted for this position
• Orientation length is dependent on experience
• Surgical scrubs are provided by the facility
• Free parking is available on-site
• Support team includes a supervisor, anesthesia, charge RN, and RT available 24/7
• Candidates living 100+ miles north of Bangor, ME will be considered on a case-by-case basis with individual approval
