American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for an Outpatient Surgery/Same Day Surgery position requiring a minimum of 2 years of OR experience and active GA or compact RN licensure.

Details

• Outpatient Surgery unit within a hospital setting, operating across 13 surgical rooms
• Patient population spans infants through geriatrics
• Day shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts, 6:45 AM – 7:15 PM
• Every other weekend required unless shifts are otherwise specified
• Floating within OR departments is required
• No on-call required, but must be available to provide coverage for cases that run late
• EMR: Epic; also uses Pyxis and SBAR communication framework

Requirements

• Active GA or compact RN license required
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Minimum 2 years of outpatient/OR surgery nursing experience required
• Two supervisory references (manager level or above; charge nurse references not accepted) are highly preferred for consideration

Additional Information

• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Scrubs are provided by the facility
• RTO maximum is 7 days per contract; RTO cannot be requested during the first week of the assignment
• Holiday coverage policy: if one or two major holidays fall within the assignment period, travelers are expected to work those holidays with no RTO; if three major holidays fall within the assignment period, travelers must work at least two of them
• Major holidays include: Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Christmas Day, and New Year's Eve/New Year's Day
• No special scheduling requests, alternate shifts, or schedule changes are permitted
• Local candidates are accepted
• Travelers must have been away from all facilities within this health system for at least one full year before returning as a travel nurse
• Full compliance with onboarding requirements must be completed on time; delays may push the start back by two weeks due to a bi-weekly orientation schedule
