American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a CVOR position requiring at least 2 years of acute CVOR experience, with on-call responsibilities and a day shift schedule in a Florida hospital setting.

• Located in the Cardiovascular OR (CVOR) unit of a hospital in Plantation, FL
• Unit consists of 2 open-heart surgical suites staffed with 2 RNs and 2 Techs on day shift
• Patient ratio of 2:1
• Procedures performed include CABG, MVR, AVR, pacemaker implantation, laser lead extractions, thoracic procedures, endovascular procedures, and standby for TVAR and mitral clip cases
• Equipment includes open heart instrumentation and supplies, TEE equipment, and ultrasound
• Documentation system: Meditech
• Day shift hours: 6:45 AM – 5:15 PM; night shift is on-call only
• On-call is required approximately every other day and every other weekend
• May be required to provide lunch relief coverage in Vascular, Robotics, General, Ortho, Neuro/Spine, Urology, Podiatry, Thoracic Surgery, and Plastic Surgery service lines
• 13-week contract

Requirements

• Active FL RN license or compact RN license currently in hand
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications (AHA or ARC accepted; must not expire within the first 30 days of the assignment start)
• Minimum 2 years of current, recent experience in an acute CVOR setting
• US SSN and date of birth required for consideration — no exceptions; Canadian SSNs are not accepted
• Two professional references required
• No gaps in work history of 90 days or more within the past 12 months

Additional Information

• Responsibilities include assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care before, during, and after cardiovascular surgical procedures
• Ensures sterile technique is maintained throughout surgery, verifies availability of necessary equipment and medications, documents surgical progress and outcomes, and ensures proper specimen handling
• Experience in minimally invasive cardiac procedures is preferred
• Scrubs are provided by the facility
• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible — local candidates will not be considered
