Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Telemetry position in an IMC Cardiovascular unit, requiring BLS and ACLS certifications and at least 1 year of relevant nursing experience.

Details

• Works in the IMC Cardiovascular unit of an acute care hospital setting
• Patient population consists of cardiac and telemetry patients (not a stepdown unit)
• Nurse-to-patient ratio is 5:1 to 6:1 depending on staffing
• Day shift schedule: 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM
• Every other weekend required
• No on-call requirements
• 13-week contract with the possibility of temp-to-perm conversion

Requirements

• Active RN license in Louisiana or a compact state license currently in hand
• Current BLS certification from the AHA required
• Current ACLS certification from the AHA required
• Minimum 1 year of experience in a telemetry or related nursing specialty
• BSN preferred
• US Social Security Number required for consideration

Additional Information

• Provides nursing care utilizing the full nursing process: assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation
• Administers medications and treatments per protocol, monitoring for side effects and effectiveness
• Addresses complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families
• Educates patients, family members, and caregivers; identifies issues and available resources
• All newly hired experienced RNs must attend New Nurses Orientation within the first 30 days
• New hires are precepted by a designated trained staff member with competency validation completed at the bedside
• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to qualify for travel rates; local candidates are not accepted on this position
