American Traveler is hiring a travel LPN with inpatient rehab or Med/Surg experience and Epic proficiency for a 13-week night shift assignment at an acute inpatient rehabilitation hospital in Madison, WI.

Details

• Work in a free-standing, 50-bed acute inpatient rehabilitation facility (IRF) accredited by The Joint Commission and CARF
• Inpatient rehabilitation unit serving adult patients with high-acuity needs including stroke, brain and spinal cord injuries, amputations, and complex orthopedic conditions
• Approximately 70% of patient cases are referred from a Trauma Center
• Patient ratio of 1:7
• Equipment includes ceiling lifts, Sara Stedy, Sara Plus, slide boards, vital machines, EKG machines, BGM, and computers for charting
• EMR: Epic (minimum 13 weeks of experience required)
• Night shift schedule: 12-hour shifts, 6:30 PM – 7:00 AM
• Every other weekend coverage required, with holiday rotation
• On-call requirements apply
• Float to a satellite IRF facility within 20 minutes may be required in the future

Requirements

• Current LPN license required if applicable
• Minimum 1 year of nursing experience in a skilled nursing or other 24/7 skilled care environment
• Inpatient rehab or Med/Surg experience strongly preferred given patient acuity
• Minimum 13 weeks of Epic EMR experience required
• Current BLS certification (AHA) required
• Social Security number and date of birth required for consideration
• Candidate must reside more than 60 miles from the facility to be eligible
• Cannot have worked as permanent staff at any LifePoint facility within the last 12 months
• Cannot be employed elsewhere full time

Additional Information

• The unit functions similarly to a Med/Surg unit and can reach high acuity; all nurses are expected to assist CNAs and respond to call lights for patient safety
• May include CNA duties as the unit works toward stabilization
• Orientation is offered on a monthly basis
• Local candidates are not accepted
• First-day orientation is required prior to starting the assignment
