Description

American Traveler is seeking a travel RN for an IMC Cardiovascular (Telemetry) unit in Alexandria, LA, requiring at least 1 year of telemetry or cardiac nursing experience and current AHA BLS and ACLS certifications.

Details

• Works in an Intermediate Care (IMC) Cardiovascular unit — not a stepdown unit
• Patient population consists of cardiac and telemetry patients
• Nurse-to-patient ratio is 5:1–6:1 depending on staffing
• Day shift schedule: 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM
• Every other weekend required
• No on-call requirements
• 13-week contract with temp-to-perm potential

Requirements

• Active LA RN license or compact RN license currently in hand
• Current BLS certification from the AHA required
• Current ACLS certification from the AHA required
• Minimum 1 year of experience in a related nursing specialty (telemetry or cardiac)
• US Social Security Number required for consideration
• 2 professional references required for consideration

Additional Information

• Provides nursing care utilizing the full nursing process — assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation
• Administers medications and treatments per protocol and monitors for side effects and effectiveness
• Addresses complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families
• Documents patient history, symptoms, medications, and care provided
• Assesses patient and family learning needs and provides appropriate education
• All newly hired experienced RNs must attend New Nurses Orientation within the first 30 days
• New hires are precepted by a designated trained staff member with competency validation completed at the bedside
• BSN is preferred but not required
• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to qualify for travel rates
