American Traveler is hiring an experienced travel RN for an ACU/CCU (ICU) position at a community hospital in Yakima, WA, requiring at least one prior travel assignment and strong critical care skills.

Details

• Work in the ACU/CCU unit of a 226-bed non-profit community hospital with 20 ICU beds
• Patient population includes CHF, respiratory distress, ACS, A-fib RVR, DM, CVA overflow, post-cath patients (TR bands and femoral approach), and surgical patients (vascular, abdominal, GI)
• Procedures include chest tube management, wound vacs, dressing changes, and monitoring femoral arterial sheaths (travelers do not pull femoral sheaths)
• Common drips include diltiazem, amiodarone, Lasix, nitro, and heparin
• Blood product administration and BiPAP management required
• Preferred experience with arterial lines, Impella, and/or IABP
• EMR: Epic
• 12-hour night shifts (1900–0730)
• 36 hours per week
• Every other weekend rotation required
• Floating may be required to Tele, Telemetry 2EW, Med-Surg, and Neurology-Medical units
• No on-call responsibilities

Requirements

• Active WA RN license or compact RN license (pending license accepted with proof of application and application date)
• Current certifications: BLS and ACLS
• Minimum 2 years of ICU experience required
• Must have completed at least one prior travel nursing assignment
• Experience with chest tubes, wound vacs, dressing changes, and femoral arterial sheath monitoring required
• Epic EMR experience required

Additional Information

• Clinical interview via SimpliFi required, with final approval from the unit
• Two professional references required (supervisor level or above — Charge Nurse, Manager, Director, etc.); one reference may be submitted initially, with a second required prior to start
