Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced Pediatric OR RN with a minimum of 2 years of OR experience and the ability to both scrub and circulate for a 13-week travel assignment at a Level I Pediatric Trauma Center.

Details

• Work in a 30-bed Operating Room unit at a short-term acute care facility, Level I Pediatric Trauma Center, Level IV NICU, and major teaching hospital (COTH member)
• Pediatric patient population ranging from newborn to 17 years of age
• Day shift schedule: 5x8-hour shifts (6:45 AM – 3:15 PM)
• On-call duties required, including rotating weeknights and weekends via self-scheduling
• Will not float to sister facilities
• Charting via Cerner; Accudose and SBAR communication also used
• Schedule cannot be blocked and must meet the needs of the unit

Requirements

• Active WV or Compact RN license required; WV pending license accepted at time of consideration but must be active prior to start
• Current BLS certification required
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required, with at least 2 years of OR-specific RN experience
• Prior travel nursing experience required — first-time travelers will not be considered
• Proficiency in both scrubbing and circulating in a general OR setting is required
• Pediatric OR experience required
• Experience in a pediatric setting and women's specialty is strongly preferred
• Robotic surgical experience is preferred
• IV start skills preferred
• Flu vaccine required during flu season (Oct 1 – Mar 31); must have documented physician or allergist allergy on record to be exempt
• Two manager or charge nurse references from within the past 2 years required for consideration
• Driver's license and Social Security card/number required for consideration

Additional Information

• Candidates must have a permanent address at least 75 miles from the facility — local candidates are not accepted
• Former permanent employees of CAMC are not eligible to return as a traveler until 2 years after their last day worked
• RTO is considered with no strict restrictions; extending the assignment by a week is appreciated when a week off is requested to maintain the full 13-week contract length
