American Traveler is seeking an experienced PACU RN for a 13-week travel contract at a Level II Trauma Center, requiring ACLS, PALS, and NIHSS certifications with on-call and float responsibilities across multiple hospital campuses.

Details

• Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) in a Level II Trauma Center hospital setting
• Patient ratio of 1:2
• Shift is days, 4x10-hour shifts with variable start times ranging from 9:00 AM to 12:30 PM
• Every other weekend required, or approximately 6 weekend shifts per 6-week period
• On-call is required: M–F nights (11 PM–7 AM), with approximately 4–6 night calls per 6-week period; weekend call (7 AM–7 PM or 7 PM–7 AM) approximately once per month
• RN must reside within 30 minutes of the hospital to take call
• Rotation to Phase II PACU outpatient discharge area required as needed
• Floating required to all four campuses within the health system (Cape Canaveral, Holmes Regional, Palm Bay, and Viera); a home base will be assigned
• Holiday and hurricane coverage per hospital policy for travelers
• Documents system: SCM (Sunrise Clinical Manager)

Requirements

• Active FL RN license or compact RN license — no pending licenses accepted
• Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NIHSS
• Minimum 1 year of PACU RN experience required
• Level II Trauma Center experience required
• Demonstrated proficiency (level 3–4) in neurological and cardiovascular areas of PACU skills assessment
• Experience titrating drips required
• 2 professional references from authority figures (Manager, Supervisor, Charge Nurse, or Director) from within the past year required for consideration
• Flu vaccine required during flu season (10/31–3/31); medical or religious exemptions accepted

Additional Information

• First-time travelers will not be considered for this position
• Candidates who have previously held an internal contracted position at this facility must wait 1 year after their end date before being eligible
• Local candidates are accepted at the same rate as travelers — no radius restriction applies
• All RTO requests must be finalized and submitted upfront; no RTO will be accepted after an offer is made
• Block scheduling may be available depending on unit need and requires manager approval prior to offer
• Scrubs must be any solid color with matching tops and bottoms — no logos, prints, or mixed colors
• Timekeeping is done via Kronos using a badge swipe system
• Free parking is provided with a decal issued at orientation
