American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a CVOR Surgical Services position at a Level 1 Trauma Center, requiring a minimum of 2 years of experience and proficiency in complex cardiovascular and thoracic surgical cases.

Details

• Work in the Cardiovascular OR (CVOR) of a large academic hospital setting
• 4x10 shift schedule, 11:00–21:30
• Significant on-call requirement: 90–120 hours per 6-week schedule
• Floating may be required within the hospital or to a nearby affiliate hospital
• Cerner EMR — experience required
• Complex cardiovascular and thoracic surgical case types include: CABG, mitral valve replacement, TAVR, TEVAR, EVAR, AAA repair, aortic dissection, carotid endarterectomy, VAD, heart and lung transplant, robotic-assisted and laparoscopic cardiac surgery, atrial septal defect repair, pericardial window, atherectomy, femoral popliteal bypass graft, cardiomyoplasty, and more
• Responsibilities include receiving pump lines from perfusion and preparing them for cannulation

Requirements

• Active IN or Compact RN license required and must be in hand prior to start
• Nursing degree from an ACEN- or CCNE-accredited university required
• Current BLS (AHA or RQI accepted) and NBSTSA certification required
• Minimum 2 years of CVOR/surgical scrub experience required
• Level 1 Trauma Center experience required
• Vascular and thoracic surgical case experience required
• Cerner charting experience required

Additional Information

• First-time travelers are welcome to apply, provided they have Level 1 Trauma Center experience
• Local candidates are accepted for this Periop/Surgical Services position
• Must be available to work 2 out of 3 major holidays
• Up to 5 days of RTO may be auto-approved
• Former permanent or PRN employees of IU Health must have been separated for at least 12 months before being eligible to apply as a traveler
• Note: IN RNs are exempt from IU Health's RN restriction for Periop/OR positions, including CVOR
