Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced CVOR RN for a night shift travel assignment at a major academic medical center, requiring 3+ years of CVOR experience and open heart surgery scrubbing skills.

Details

• Position is in the CVOR unit located within the main hospital
• Adult open heart surgical cases including CABG, and valve procedures (aortic, mitral, and pulmonic)
• Procedures include ECMO, laser lead extractions, and TAVR (also performed in the main OR)
• Experience with Impella and HeartMate devices is required
• Scrubbing open CVOR cases is required; circulating and TAVR experience are highly preferred
• Will float to the Main OR when no CVOR cases are scheduled during the shift
• Night shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts, 18:00–06:30
• On-call requirement of 32 hours per month
• Charting is done in Epic

Requirements

• Active NJ RN license or compact RN license currently in hand
• Current BLS certification required; CNOR preferred
• Minimum 3 years of CVOR RN experience required
• Scrub experience for open CVOR cases is required
• Travel experience is highly preferred
• Two current professional references required
• SSN and DOB required for consideration
• Previous charge experience preferred

Additional Information

• Local candidates are accepted
• Former employees of the RWJBH health system (full-time or PRN) must have been separated from the system for a minimum of 1 year before being eligible for a travel assignment
• Any requested time off or schedule accommodations must be submitted prior to an offer; RTO requests made after an offer will not be accommodated
• Candidates with less than 7 days of RTO and no holiday time off requests will be prioritized
• Must be available to work 2 of 3 holidays during the contract
• Scrubs are provided by the facility
• First-time travelers will be considered, though travel experience is highly preferred
• Failing a competency exam requires a 6-month waiting period before reapplying
