American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Cardiac Telemetry position at a hospital in Augusta, GA, requiring Epic proficiency and a minimum of 1 year of relevant experience.

Details

• Cardiac Telemetry unit in an acute care hospital setting
• Adult to geriatric patient population
• Patient conditions include post-MI, heart failure, arrhythmias, chest pain, peripheral vascular disease, and peritoneal dialysis
• Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:5 on a 16-bed unit
• Skills required include telemetry monitoring, EKG interpretation, and Doppler use
• EMR: Epic (required); also uses Pyxis and SBAR communication framework
• Day shift: 3x12-hour shifts, 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM
• 6 weekend shifts required per 6-week scheduling period
• Floating required within the facility and scope of practice as needed
• No on-call requirements
• 12-week contract

Requirements

• Active GA or Compact RN license required at time of consideration
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Minimum 1 year of cardiac telemetry nursing experience required
• Epic EMR experience required
• Copies of all required certifications must be provided for consideration
• Two supervisory references (manager level or above; charge nurses not accepted) are highly preferred

• RTO maximum of 7 days for the assignment; RTO cannot be requested during the first week of the assignment
• Spring Break (April 4–12) is an RTO blackout period
• Holiday coverage policy: if one or two major holidays fall within the assignment period, travelers are expected to work all of them with no holiday RTO permitted; if three major holidays fall within the assignment period, travelers are expected to work two of them and may request one holiday off for approval
• Major holidays include Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday (counted as one), Christmas Eve/Christmas Day (counted as one), and New Year's Eve/New Year's Day (counted as one)
• No scheduling changes, alternate shifts, or special schedule requests are permitted
• Travelers must have been away from all facilities within this health system for a full year before returning as a traveler
• Full compliance is required to begin the assignment on time; delays in compliance may result in a two-week pushback due to the bi-weekly orientation schedule
• Candidates will undergo a clinical review to assess fit prior to manager consideration
