Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a PACU position in Illinois, requiring 2+ years of acute care PACU experience, active IL licensure, and the ability to pass an Epic proficiency test.

Details

• Peri-Anesthesia/PACU unit within an acute care hospital setting
• Patient population ranges from pediatric to geriatric
• Shift hours are 11:00 AM – 7:30 PM, 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday
• Every other weekend may be required, subject to confirmation with the manager
• Holiday coverage required, details to be determined with the manager
• On-call is required: overnight call averages 5–8 shifts per month (starting at 11:30 PM), with weekend call averaging 5–8 shifts per month (7:00 AM–7:00 PM, 7:00 PM–7:00 AM, or 11:00 PM–7:00 AM)
• EMR: Epic — candidates must be able to test out of Epic, as Epic training classes will not be provided
• Facility-provided scrubs

Requirements

• Active Illinois (IL) RN license required
• Current certifications required: BLS/CPR, ACLS, and PALS
• Minimum 2 years of PACU experience in an acute care setting required
• Must reside within 1 hour of the facility to meet call-back requirements
• Must be able to demonstrate Epic proficiency (testing required; no Epic classes offered)

Additional Information

• Must be a self-starter comfortable working with minimal onboarding — orientation may be as brief as a half day
• At least 2 RNs are always on duty in the department
• Candidate must be prepared to be fully independent on the floor from the start
