Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a MedSurg/Telemetry Direct Observation Unit position at a Level III Trauma hospital, requiring a minimum of 2 years of acute care experience and an active AZ or compact RN license.

Details

• Acute care hospital setting at a Level III Trauma facility
• 10-bed MedSurg unit with telemetry capability on all beds
• Patient population includes medical-surgical and telemetry patients, including pediatric patients
• Nurse-to-patient ratios: 1:5 on days, 1:6 on nights, and 1:4 for pediatric patients (adjusted based on acuity)
• 12-hour night shifts
• Floating required to all MS units and ICU (for MS overflow patients)
• Charting via Allscripts EMR
• 13-week contract

Requirements

• Active AZ or compact RN license required
• Current certifications required: BLS (AHA), ACLS (AHA), and NIHSS
• PALS preferred
• Minimum 2 years of MedSurg acute care experience required
• BSN not required

Additional Information

• Support staff on unit includes telemetry techs, charge nurses, HUCs, and PCTs
• Nurse managers conduct rounds but do not provide direct patient care
• Orientation is 8 hours
• Any color scrubs are acceptable; scrubs are not provided by the facility
