American Traveler is hiring an experienced CVOR RN for a circulating role at a short-term acute care hospital in Indiana, requiring a minimum of 18 months of OR experience and Cerner proficiency.

Details

• Short-term acute care hospital setting with a 24-room OR suite and an average daily census of 70–80
• Cardiovascular OR (CVOR) unit — circulating role only, scrubbing is not required
• Specialized cases include heart and lung transplants, aortic dissections, and ECMO
• Day shift: 3x12-hour shifts, 6:30 AM – 7:00 PM
• On-call required: approximately 100 hours per 6-week period, including one call weekend per 6 weeks (Friday evening through Monday morning)
• Floating required to other OR specialties and potentially to an affiliate hospital nearby
• Charting is performed in Cerner (experience required)
• Local candidates are accepted for this Periop/Surgical Services position

Requirements

• Active IN or Compact RN license in hand prior to start
• Current BLS certification (AHA or RQI accepted)
• Minimum 18 months to 2 years of CVOR or OR RN experience required
• Cerner EMR experience required
• Level I Trauma experience required or candidate will be screened accordingly
• Nursing degree from a university accredited by ACEN or CCNE at time of graduation

Additional Information

• This is a circulating CVOR position — scrub experience is not required
• First-time travelers are accepted provided they have Level I Trauma experience
• Candidates must be available for an interview and provide 2–3 days of availability upon applying
• Must be prepared to work 2 out of 3 major holidays
• Up to 5 days of RTO may be auto-approved
• Former permanent or PRN employees of IU Health must have been separated for at least 12 months before applying as a traveler
• IN RN travelers are generally exempt from IU Health's post-11/30/24 restriction for Periop/OR roles, including this CVOR position
