American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Cath Lab/EP travel position in Alexandria, LA, working day shifts Monday through Friday with every third or fourth weekend on-call requirement.

• Hospital-based Cardiology Cath Lab setting in Alexandria, LA
• Patient population includes cardiac catheterizations, peripheral procedures, TAVR, and device placements
• Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:4 (2 nurses and 2 techs per patient)
• Day shift: 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM, Monday through Friday
• Every third or fourth weekend required
• On-call required, scheduled in collaboration with other staff
• No floating required
• 13-week contract with potential temp-to-perm opportunity

Requirements

• Active LA RN license or Compact RN license currently in hand
• BLS certification from AHA required
• ACLS certification from AHA required
• Prior Cath Lab or cardiac nursing experience preferred
• BSN preferred
• Two professional references required for consideration
• Valid US Social Security Number required for consideration

Additional Information

• Provides routine and complex nursing care utilizing the nursing process, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation
• Administers medications and treatments per protocol, monitoring for side effects and effectiveness
• Documents patient history, symptoms, medications, and care provided
• Addresses complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families
• Assesses learning needs and provides education to patients, family members, and caregivers
• New hires are precepted by a designated trained staff member with onboarding validated through organizational and department-specific competency assessments
• All newly hired RNs must attend New Nurses Orientation within the first 30 days
• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to qualify for travel pay rates
