American Traveler is hiring a Psychiatric RN for a weekend-only, addiction recovery transitional support role in Tewksbury, MA, requiring a current MA RN license and local candidates only.

Details

• Located at a Transitional Support Services (TSS) facility in Tewksbury, MA
• Addiction recovery and psychiatric patient population, bridging the gap between detox and community living
• Provides 24/7 nursing care in a structured residential recovery environment
• 6-hour day shifts, 12 hours per week
• Scheduled Saturdays and Sundays weekly
• 20-week contract
• In-person interview required

Requirements

• Active MA RN license currently in hand
• Current BLS certification required
• Background in psychiatric and/or addiction recovery nursing
• Experience with Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT), including buprenorphine and naltrexone
• COVID vaccine and booster required (medical exemptions accepted)
• Flu vaccine required during flu season (medical exemptions accepted)
• Candidates must reside within 50 miles of the facility

Additional Information

• Monitors patients for post-acute withdrawal symptoms, co-occurring mental health disorders, and overall health stability
• Oversees self-administered medications, administers MAT, and conducts overdose prevention training
• Leads psycho-educational groups and teaches relapse prevention and healthy life skills
• Collaborates with interdisciplinary teams — including counselors and physicians — to develop individualized treatment plans and coordinate aftercare
• Assists with case management, outpatient referrals, and daily living skills support
• Conducts drug testing and ensures compliance with program structure and safety protocols
• Candidates who have previously worked at any Beth Israel Lahey Health (BILH) affiliated facility must have a 6-month break before being considered
• MA RN license must be included at the time of consideration
