American Traveler is seeking a travel RN for an Acute Telemetry position in Alexandria, LA, requiring Epic experience and a minimum of 1 year of relevant nursing experience.

Details

• Acute Telemetry unit in a hospital setting
• Patient population includes MI, CHF, arrhythmias, PVD, and med/surg overflow
• Unit manages cardiac drips (no nitrates)
• Nurse-to-patient ratio is 5:1, occasionally 6:1
• Day shift: 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM
• Every other weekend required
• No on-call responsibilities
• Floating to other units required as needed
• Epic EMR experience required
• 13-week contract

Requirements

• Active LA RN license or compact license (currently in hand)
• Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association (AHA)
• Current ACLS certification from the American Heart Association (AHA)
• Minimum 1 year of experience in telemetry or a related nursing specialty
• Epic EMR experience required
• US Social Security Number required for consideration

Additional Information

• Provides routine and complex nursing care utilizing the full nursing process: assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation
• Administers medications and treatments per protocol, monitoring for side effects and treatment effectiveness
• Addresses complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families
• Documents patient history, symptoms, medications, and care provided
• Assesses learning needs and provides education to patients, families, and caregivers
• New hires attend a general orientation within the first 30 days and complete unit-specific competency validation with a designated preceptor
• Temp-to-perm conversion is a possibility
• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for the travel pay rate
• BSN is preferred but not required
