American Traveler is seeking an experienced ED RN for a 13-week travel contract at a Chest Pain and Stroke Center, requiring 2 years of ED experience and multi-facility floating availability.

Details

• Work in the Emergency Department of a 207-licensed-bed hospital designated as a Chest Pain Center and Stroke Center (no trauma designation, non-teaching)
• Patient population includes stroke, CHF, electrolyte imbalances, arrhythmias, respiratory arrest, sepsis, COPD, falls, and MVCs
• RN-to-patient ratio of 1:3–4; CNA coverage at 1:8–10
• Day shift, 12 hours (0700–1900); additional shift start times available include 0900, 1100, 1300, 1500, and 1900
• Weekend rotation every other weekend
• No on-call requirements for travelers
• Floating is required to all facilities within Region 1, including Cabarrus, University City, Stanly, Freestanding EDs within the region, Lake Norman, and the Central Division — candidates must be willing to float or should not apply
• EMR: Epic (experience required)
• Equipment includes Alaris IV pumps, Omnicell med dispensing, Philips monitors, bladder scanner, SCDs, telemetry monitoring, vents, and BiPAP

Requirements

• Active RN license — NC or Compact license required
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS, and CPI; TNCC preferred
• Minimum 2 years of ED experience, with most recent experience within the last year
• General ED skillset required, including cardiac rhythm interpretation, critical care drip management, vent management, PIV starts, TNK/TPA administration, conscious sedation, and triage
• Last 4 digits of SSN and full DOB required for consideration
• Minimum 1 professional reference dated within the past year from a Supervisor, Manager, Director, or Charge RN
• Candidates must reside at least 50 miles from the facility — local candidates are not accepted

Additional Information

• Department support includes CNAs, a Receptionist/HUC, Charge Nurse, Phlebotomy, an IV/VAT Team (11a–7p and 11p–7a), Resource Nurse (as staffing allows), RT (24/7), Hospitalist (24/7), and Intensivist coverage
• Orientation includes NEO and 2 days of departmental orientation
• Travelers are expected to work 75% of assigned holidays
• RTO of up to 6 days may be approved, excluding holidays; missed contracted hours must be made up at the end of the contract
