American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Primary Care / Healthcare for the Homeless program position in Alaska, requiring an active Alaska RN license and a minimum of 2 years of primary care experience.

• Ambulatory care clinic setting within a Healthcare for the Homeless Primary Care Program
• Responsibilities span primary care, urgent care, and clinic-based nursing duties
• Monday through Friday schedule, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM; closed on holidays
• 13-week contract

Requirements

• Active, full, and unrestricted Alaska RN license required at time of consideration
• Current BLS certification required
• Minimum 2 years of primary care nursing experience required
• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Proficiency with computers and standard medical equipment
• Proof of flu vaccine required
• Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 lbs
• Ability to stand, walk, sit, reach, and occasionally stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl as part of physical job duties

Additional Information

• Position serves patients within the Healthcare for the Homeless Primary Care Program, working alongside providers, clinic staff, and management to deliver quality ambulatory care
• Responsibilities include medication and supply inventory management, point-of-care quality control checks, and thorough documentation of all care provided
• Collaborates with providers and interdepartmental staff to ensure efficient and high-quality patient care
• Maintains annual competencies, certifications, and mandatory training; attends staff meetings and participates in in-services
• Start date will be no earlier than 5 weeks after fingerprint cards are received at the facility for processing — candidates should plan to schedule a fingerprinting appointment and mail cards within 2–3 days of acceptance to avoid delays
• Fingerprint processing is required prior to start; prompt turnaround is strongly encouraged to preserve the target start date
