American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Medical Surgical - Neuro/Ortho position requiring Epic proficiency and night shift availability in a 35-bed unit.

Details

• 35-bed combined Orthopedic and Neuro Medical-Surgical unit
• Patient population includes Medical-Surgical, Orthopedic, and Neurological cases
• Patient ratio of 1:6
• Telemetry is monitored via a centralized unit rather than at bedside
• Supported by Patient Care Technicians and Patient Transporters
• House discharge nurse floats across all departments
• Floating required to units of equal or lesser acuity
• Block scheduling considered on a case-by-case basis
• Night shift: 4x12-hour shifts, 19:00–07:30
• Documents with Epic as the EMR

Requirements

• Active TX RN license or Compact RN license currently in hand
• Current BLS and NIHSS certifications required
• Minimum 1 year of RN experience required
• Epic experience required within the last 6 months
• Candidates must reside at least 50 miles from the facility to be eligible

Additional Information

• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Former permanent staff must have been separated from the facility for at least 1 year before being eligible as a traveler
• No travel pairs or groups accepted
• RTO is limited to no more than 3 days auto-approved; no RTO during the first week of orientation
• Two professional references from a supervisor within the past 2 years required for consideration
• Scrubs may be any color but must be logo-free
