Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Neuro Unit position requiring a TX or compact RN license, NIHSS certification, and a minimum of 2 years of experience.

Details

• Work in a 19-bed private room Med/Surg Neuro Unit within a hospital setting
• Patient population ranges from young adults to geriatric patients with medical, surgical, neurological, and neurosurgical diagnoses
• Unit is equipped with telemetry and oximetry monitoring
• Patient ratio of 1:6
• Night shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts (19:00–07:00)
• Epic EMR used; experience preferred

Requirements

• Active TX or compact RN license currently in hand
• Current certifications: BLS and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• Prior travel nursing experience preferred
• Epic EMR experience preferred

Additional Information

• Candidates residing in the following TX counties are not eligible: Henderson, Anderson, Cherokee, Rusk, Panola, Smith, Gregg, Van Zandt, Wood, Upshur, Camp, Hopkins, Franklin, Titus, and Morris
• Candidates living within 50 miles of the facility are not accepted
• Former permanent staff must have been separated from the facility for at least 1 year before being eligible as a traveler
• No travel pairs or groups accepted
• No more than 3 days of RTO will be auto-approved; no RTO during the first week of orientation
• 2 professional references from a supervisor within the past 2 years are required for consideration
