American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN Stress Test Provider for a hospital-based Cardiac Stress Testing Lab role requiring prior stress testing experience and active NC or compact RN licensure.

• Hospital-based Cardiac Stress Testing Lab setting, operating across two campuses (Gastonia and Belmont)
• CardioNeuro unit within an acute care hospital environment
• Patient population includes those undergoing cardiac stress testing, cardiac CT studies, and related imaging procedures
• Procedures include patient preparation and IV starts, ECG lead placement and interpretation, and administration of exercise and pharmacological stress tests using nuclear, non-nuclear, and MRI imaging
• Also provides care to patients receiving cardiac CT studies performed in the Imaging Department
• 3-person team structure: 1 Stress Provider (RN or exercise physiologist), 1 support RN, and 1 diagnostic tech
• Five 8-hour shifts per week; shift hours are 0700–1530 (Gastonia) or 0600–1430 (Belmont), depending on campus assignment
• Stress lab operates 7 days a week with an estimated every 3rd–4th weekend requirement
• 26-week contract

Requirements

• Active RN license to practice in NC — NC state license or multi-state compact license required
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Prior cardiac stress testing experience required — candidates new to stress testing are not eligible for this role
• BSN preferred
• Specialty certification preferred
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced acute care environment
• Exceptional cardiovascular assessment skills required

Additional Information

• Responsible for administering exercise and pharmacological stress tests and collaborating with medical staff and the broader care team to ensure high-quality patient outcomes
• No time off permitted on holidays, including the day before and the day after each holiday
• This role requires an already-competent stress test provider; per ACC guidelines, new stress testing practitioners require 200 tests before being cleared to work independently, and on-site training into this role is not available
