American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for an Operating Room position at a Level 1 Trauma Center in Portland, ME, requiring at least 2 years of OR experience and the ability to independently circulate complex orthopedic and trauma cases.

• Level 1 Trauma Center hospital-based Operating Room with 30 OR suites and multiple surgical specialties
• 26-bed OR unit with a 1:1 patient ratio
• Orthopedic-focused caseload including complex total joint revisions, polytrauma, and multi-vendor cases; preferred experience also includes General, GU/GYN, Neurosurgery, ENT, Pediatrics, Plastics, Dental, and Endovascular
• Equipment used includes Storz, Stryker, Olympus, and Intuitive Robotic systems
• EMR: Epic
• Day shift: 7:00 AM – 5:30 PM, 12-hour shifts
• 1:4 weekend rotation required
• On-call requirement: one overnight trauma call shift (11 PM – 7 AM); specialty team call scheduled per team rules (Cardiac, Thoracic, Vascular, Neuro, Ortho)
• 26-week contract

Requirements

• Active ME RN license or Compact RN license currently in hand
• Current BLS certification required
• CNOR certification preferred
• Minimum 2 years of OR RN experience required
• Level 1 trauma center OR experience required
• Ability to independently circulate complex total joint revisions and orthopedic polytrauma cases with multiple vendors
• Proficiency with complex joint revisions and orthopedic trauma required
• Driver's License required for consideration
• 2 professional references required for consideration
• SSN and DOB required for consideration

Additional Information

• Independently circulate complex orthopedic and trauma surgical cases, managing multiple vendors within a single procedure
• Expected to sustain First Case On-Time (FCOT) starts and maintain OR turnover times under 30 minutes
• Responsible for training students and orientees as needed
• Teal scrubs are issued by the facility
• Airpods, laptops, and personal cell phone use are prohibited on the unit
• Candidates residing within 90 miles of any MaineHealth facility (including residents of Maine or New Hampshire) are considered local and may be subject to a different pay rate
• Local travelers are not eligible for contract renewals or extensions
• Candidates who have worked at any MaineHealth facility within the past 12 months should disclose this during the application process
• A 25-mile float policy between facilities may apply
• Travel pairs or groups are not accepted for this position
