American Traveler is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) with 3+ years of experience at a tertiary Level 1 trauma teaching hospital for a night shift travel position in Portland, ME.

Details

• Hospital-based respiratory therapy department covering the entire facility
• Patient population includes adult acute and critical care, NICU, PICU, acute care pediatrics, and ED
• Patient ratios: 1:25 for acute care and 1:8 for critical care
• Team of 14–16 RRTs covering the facility on a given shift
• Ventilators and equipment used include Dräger V500 and VN500, Hamilton T1 and C1, Respironics V30/V60, Trilogy line, Airvo, and Vapotherm
• EMR: Epic
• Night shift, 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM
• On-call requirement: 2-hour call obligation for the oncoming shift
• Float requirement: candidates must be able to float to NICU/PICU, acute care pediatrics, ED, and adult acute and critical care areas
• 25-mile float policy between facilities may apply as needed

Requirements

• RRT credential required
• Minimum 3 years of respiratory therapy experience
• Experience in a tertiary, academic teaching hospital required
• Level 1 trauma center experience required
• BLS required
• ACLS preferred
• NRP required for NICU coverage
• NICU/PICU and cardiothoracic experience preferred
• Driver's license required for consideration
• License required if applicable
• 2 professional references required for consideration
• SSN and DOB required for consideration

Additional Information

• Provide respiratory therapy services across multiple care settings including adult critical care, NICU, PICU, pediatrics, and ED
• Scrubs are provided or flexible attire is acceptable
• Candidates residing within 90 miles of any MaineHealth facility (in Maine or New Hampshire) are considered local and may be subject to a different pay rate
• Local travelers are not eligible for renewals or extensions
• Use of AirPods, laptops, and cell phones on the unit is prohibited
• Travel pairs or groups are not accepted for this position
