American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Wound Care position at an acute care facility in the Bronx, NY, requiring WOCN or WCEI certification and at least 2 years of inpatient clinical experience.

Details

• Inpatient acute care setting, Wound Care unit on the 4th floor
• Trauma Level II facility
• Common diagnoses include pressure injuries, diabetic ulcers, vascular wounds, surgical wounds, and ostomies
• Team handles approximately 20 consults per day plus follow-ups, with Mondays and Fridays being the heaviest days
• Workload is divided among the team by unit
• Equipment and treatments include KCI wound vacs and a wide variety of wound care dressings and treatment modalities
• Charting is done in Allscripts EMR
• Day shift schedule, Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM–4:00 PM or 9:00 AM–5:00 PM
• 8-hour shifts
• Weekends are optional
• Holidays are optional
• No on-call or standby requirements
• Floating required to inpatient areas including Med/Surg, PCU, ICU, and OR as needed
• 13-week contract

Requirements

• Active NY RN license required
• Current BLS certification (AHA)
• WOCN certification OR WCEI certification required
• Minimum 2 years of inpatient clinical experience required
• Wound care experience preferred
• Allscripts EMR experience beneficial

Additional Information

• Daily responsibilities include reviewing consults, performing head-to-toe patient assessments, placing wound care orders, providing patient education, and collaborating with an interdisciplinary team including physicians, social workers, and floor RNs
• Orientation consists of 1 day of nursing and IT orientation, followed by preceptor time as needed
• Royal blue scrubs or casual dress required
