American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg - Neuro position at a Level 1 Trauma Center and major teaching hospital, with night shift availability and a minimum of 2 years of RN experience required.

• 26-bed Med/Surg - Neuro unit at a Level 1 Trauma Center and major teaching hospital (COTH member) with 855 total staffed beds
• Patient population includes CVA, TBI, epidural and subdural hematoma, seizure disorder, spinal cord injuries and disorders, and an Epilepsy Monitoring Unit (EMU)
• Patient ratio of 1:4-5
• Night shift: 7p-7a, available as 3x12 (36-hour) or 4x12 (48-hour) contract options
• Schedule includes weekdays and every other weekend
• Floating within scope may be required to meet facility needs
• Charting system: Cerner
• Free parking available for travelers

Requirements

• Active WV or Compact RN license required; pending license is acceptable for consideration
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• Current BLS certification required (American Heart Association)
• Driver's License and SSN required for consideration
• Minimum of 2 manager or charge nurse references within the past 2 years required for consideration
• Must reside more than 100 miles from the facility; candidates between 75–99 miles may be considered on a case-by-case basis at the same rate
• Any previous probationary actions on license will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis

• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Orientation is held every other Thursday prior to start
• Non-billable online modules averaging 2–6 hours must be completed prior to start date; a certificate of completion will be provided
• Flu vaccine is required during flu season (October 1 – March 31); a documented medical allergy on record from an allergist or physician is the only accepted exemption
• COVID vaccine is not required
• Scrub color: Royal Blue or White (RN)
• Former permanent employees of CAMC or any Vandalia Health System facility (including Mon Health Systems, Davis Medical Center, Broaddus Hospital, Webster Memorial Hospital, Grafton City Hospital, Highland-Clarksburg Hospital, Minnie Hamilton Health System) are not eligible for a travel contract at this facility
• Candidates who were previously permanent employees at CAMC must have been separated for at least 2 years before being eligible to return as a traveler
• Blocked schedule/RTO requests will be accommodated when possible
