American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a PCU Float position requiring Epic experience, BLS/ACLS/NIH certifications, and flexibility to float across MS, MS/Tele, and PCU units on nights.

Details

• Hospital setting with floating required across all MS, MS/Tele, and PCU units
• Patient population: adults to geriatrics with general MS, MS/Tele, and PCU diagnoses
• Patient ratios: 1:4-5 on PCU; 1:5-6 on MS and MS/Tele
• Night shift: 4x12-hour shifts (19:00–07:00)
• Every other weekend required (approximately 6 weekends over a 13-week contract)
• EMR: Epic (required); also uses Pyxis and SBAR communication framework
• No on-call requirements

Requirements

• Active GA or Compact RN license required
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
• Minimum 1 year of RN experience
• Epic proficiency required
• Two supervisory references (manager level or above; charge nurse references not accepted) are highly preferred

• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Local candidates are accepted
• Navy blue scrubs required
• RTO maximum of 7 days per contract; RTO cannot be requested during the first week of the assignment
• RTO blackout dates apply: April 4–12 (Spring Break)
• Holiday coverage policy: travelers are expected to work all major holidays that fall within their assignment period if one or two occur; if three occur, travelers must work two and may request one holiday off — major holidays include Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Christmas Day, and New Year's Eve/New Year's Day
• No schedule change requests or alternate shift requests are permitted; the posted night shift is firm
• Travelers must have been away from all facilities within this health system for a minimum of 1 full year before returning as a traveler
• Full compliance with onboarding requirements is necessary to start on time
