American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Labor & Delivery position requiring a minimum of 2 years of L&D experience and Epic proficiency, working night shifts in a busy hospital setting.

Details

• Labor & Delivery unit with 16 L&D beds, an average daily census of 15, and a 6-bed L&D Triage area
• Patient population includes neonates/infants and adults
• Procedures include vaginal deliveries, C-sections, multiple births, postpartum hemorrhage management, pregnancy-induced hypertension care, and D&C
• Patient ratio of 1:1-2
• EMR: Epic (required); also uses Pyxis and SBAR communication framework
• Night shift: 3x12-hour shifts, 19:00–07:00
• 3 weekend shifts required per contract
• Floating within the facility and scope of practice as needed
• On-call requirements: 2 call shifts per 6 weeks for AM and PM shifts

Requirements

• Active GA or Compact RN license required at time of consideration
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NRP; AWHONN Intermediate preferred
• Minimum 2 years of Labor & Delivery experience required
• Epic proficiency required
• Copies of all required certifications must be provided for consideration
• Two supervisory references (manager level or above; charge nurse references not accepted) are highly preferred

Additional Information

• First-time travelers are not accepted for this position
• Scrubs are provided by the facility
• RTO maximum of 7 days per contract; RTO cannot be requested during the first week of the assignment
• RTO blackout dates apply during Spring Break (April 4–12)
• Holiday coverage policy: if 1 or 2 major holidays fall within the assignment period, the traveler is expected to work all of them and no holiday RTO may be requested; if 3 major holidays fall within the assignment period, the traveler must work 2 and may request 1 holiday off for approval
• Major holidays include Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Christmas Day, and New Year's Eve/New Year's Day
• No special scheduling requests, alternate shifts, or schedule changes are permitted
• Travelers must have been away from all facilities within this health system for a minimum of 1 full year before returning as a traveler
