American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Cath Lab/EP position requiring a TX or compact RN license and a minimum of 2 years of Cath Lab experience, with on-call availability required.

Details

• Located in a community hospital Cath Lab/EP setting
• Unit covers Diagnostic, Interventional, and Electrophysiology (EP) Lab procedures, as well as Pre/Post Procedure care
• Procedures performed include cardiac catheterizations (left and right heart), PCI, cardiac stent placement, IABP placement/removal, Impella insertion, ventricular assist device insertion, pacemaker/defibrillator insertion and lead extraction, carotid angiography, renal artery stent placement, angioplasty, and upper/lower extremity angiography
• TEE (Transesophageal Echocardiogram) experience is preferred
• On-call is required for this position
• Day shift schedule: 4x10-hour shifts, approximately 6:00 AM – 4:30 PM (end time may vary)
• GE MacLab and MedHost experience preferred
• Altera/Allscripts charting system — Altera experience preferred but not required

Requirements

• Active TX RN license or compact RN license currently in hand
• Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
• Minimum 2 years of Cath Lab experience required
• Proficiency with cardiac medications including antiarrhythmics, antihypertensives, IV vasopressors, thrombolytics, procedural sedation, and reversal agents
• Skills required include dysrhythmia interpretation and management, sheath removal/monitoring, ACT monitoring, vascular closure systems, topical hemostasis, procedural sedation monitoring, cardioversion, radiation and laser safety, and 12-lead EKG/ECG acquisition
• Travel experience strongly preferred
• Must reside more than 150 miles from the facility or in a metropolitan area to be eligible for this position
• Two supervisor references from within the last 3 years of employment required for consideration

Additional Information

• Candidates must be available to complete required lab work within 72 hours of accepting an offer
• The facility conducts its own drug screen upon arrival, which includes marijuana — a positive result is an automatic cancellation with no exceptions; candidates should avoid any substances that could result in a positive screen, including CBD products
• Previous permanent staff must have been separated from the facility for at least 1 year before returning as a traveler
• Orientation includes non-billable online modules averaging 6–8 hours, completed during orientation
