Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for an Ambulatory Oncology Infusion position at an academic medical center, requiring a minimum of 2 years of RN experience and oncology infusion background.

Details

• Ambulatory oncology infusion center setting within a large academic medical institution (500+ bed facility)
• Fast-paced infusion center focused on patient-centered oncology care in a supportive outpatient environment
• Chemotherapy, biotherapy, and immunotherapy administration to oncology patients
• Schedule: Monday–Friday, day shifts (7:00 AM–5:30 PM or 8:00 AM–4:30 PM), with flexibility between 5x8-hour or 4x10-hour shift arrangements
• 40 hours per week
• No call, no weekends, and no holidays required
• Epic EMR experience preferred, including familiarity with Epic's Beacon oncology ordering system

Requirements

• Active MD or Compact RN license required
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• Current BLS certification required
• ACLS and AED certifications preferred
• Oncology infusion experience required
• Ambulatory care experience required
• Chemo/biotherapy/immunotherapy provider card required
• Proficiency in peripheral IV insertion and peripheral blood draws
• Experience accessing, maintaining, and de-accessing central lines
• Prior travel nursing experience preferred
• Experience at a 500+ bed facility required

• Responsibilities include medication and chemo/biotherapy administration, ongoing patient monitoring throughout treatment, and rapid intervention in emergent situations
• Nurses are expected to perform thorough assessments for a variety of medical conditions and provide ongoing patient education
• Local candidates are accepted at the same rate as traveling candidates
