Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg position at a Level 1 Trauma Center in Illinois, requiring at least 2 years of acute care experience and an active IL RN license.

Details

• Med/Surg unit in a Level 1 Trauma Center hospital setting
• Day shift, 3x12-hour shifts (7:00 AM – 7:30 PM)
• Every other weekend required (approximately 2 weekends per month)
• Charting performed in Cerner
• Floating to other units and facilities within the Cook County health system is mandatory and may be assigned up to 2 hours before a shift
• No on-call responsibilities
• Local candidates are accepted and preferred; must reside within 75 miles of the facility

Requirements

• Active Illinois (IL) RN license — no pending licensure accepted
• Minimum 2 years of recent acute care Med/Surg experience required
• Required certifications: BLS and NIHSS
• ACLS preferred
• Cerner EMR experience beneficial given facility use
• COVID vaccination proof required — no exceptions

Additional Information

• This is a mandatory float facility — travelers may be assigned to a variety of units, including areas outside their primary competency; a team-based model is used when floating outside primary scope
• RTO is limited to a maximum of 5 days per contract, with no more than 2 consecutive days off at a time
• No RTO on weekends will be approved
• No RTO on holidays, or the day immediately before or after a holiday
• No special scheduling or block scheduling requests will be accommodated
• Scrubs of any color are acceptable
