American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Medical Oncology Med/Surg Telemetry position requiring at least 2 years of experience and telemetry interpretation skills.

Details

• Inpatient medical oncology unit (17 James Medical Oncology) in a hospital setting
• Cares for adult and geriatric patients with solid tumor cancers including breast, lung, prostate, pancreatic, colon, esophageal, and patients undergoing antineoplastic chemotherapy
• Covers the full spectrum of the cancer journey — from new diagnosis through treatment and end-of-life care transition
• Staffing goal is 1:4, with a possible ratio of 1:5 based on unit needs
• Night shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts (19:00–07:30)
• Rotating day/night contract — shift assignments are assessed every 4-week scheduling period and may include nights or a mix of shifts based on department priorities
• Weekend scheduling is variable based on unit needs
• Self-scheduling requests are submitted prior to final schedule posting
• Charting via Epic EMR
• Floating required to other Med/Surg Oncology units

Requirements

• Active OH RN license or compact RN license currently in hand
• Current BLS certification required
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• Telemetry interpretation and telemetry monitoring skills required
• ONS Chemotherapy certification preferred
• Previous travel nursing experience preferred
• Oncology experience preferred but not required

Additional Information

• Heavy focus on infection prevention protocols and patient fall prevention
• Orientation consists of the first week Mon–Fri on day shift, followed by a second week of 36 hours of on-unit orientation with a preceptor
• No 30-day break between assignments is required when changing representation at this facility (except for Sterile Processing Techs)
• 2 professional supervisory references from within the past 2 years required for consideration
• Full 7-year work history with all gaps explained required for consideration
• All time-off and scheduling requests must be submitted at the time of initial consideration
