American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Cardiac Progressive Care Unit (CPCU) position in Hawaii, requiring a minimum of 1 year of acute care experience and an active HI RN license by start of assignment.

Details

• Progressive Care Unit (CPCU) in a hospital setting
• 15-bed unit consisting of 3 Step-Down ICU beds and 12 telemetry beds
• Patient ratios of 1:4 for Progressive Care and 1:3 for Step-Down ICU
• Procedures include primary nursing care, telemetry monitoring, telemetry strip reading, and fingerstick blood glucose monitoring
• Equipment includes BIPAP and continuous cardiac monitoring
• Charting via Meditech; Pyxis used for medication administration
• Varied shift schedule of 36 hours per week (after the first week of orientation)
• No on-call responsibilities
• Floating required to all acute units, including Medical, Surgical/Peds, ICU, and ER
• 13-week contract

Requirements

• Active HI RN license required by start of assignment — candidates without one must apply upon acceptance of offer
• Minimum 1 year of hospital acute care experience within the last year
• Current BLS/BCLS required
• ACLS, PALS, and NIHSS certifications preferred
• Progressive Care and telemetry experience preferred

Additional Information

• All travelers must report to Employee Health 48–72 hours prior to the start of assignment; this appointment is held at Hilo Employee Health and attendance is mandatory
• Travelers should plan to arrive in Hawaii the Thursday before a Monday start date in order to attend the Employee Health appointment Friday morning
• COVID-19 vaccination required
• Scrubs required as dress code
