American Traveler is hiring a travel LPN for a Med Surg/Tele unit in Saint Louis, MO, requiring at least 1 year of acute care Med Surg experience and current IV certification.

Details

• 60-bed Medical unit (7 West) in an acute care hospital setting
• Medical patient population including patients with post-trauma, surgical, and medical comorbidity needs
• Patient ratio of 1:5-6
• Equipment includes bladder scanner, vein finder, IV pumps, and wound vacs
• EMR: Epic
• Day shift, 12-hour shifts from 0700-1930
• Every other weekend required
• No on-call requirements
• May float to a similar or lower acuity unit as needed
• 13-week assignment

Requirements

• Current LPN license — must be eligible for or currently licensed in Missouri (license required if applicable)
• Minimum 1 year of Med Surg experience in an acute care hospital
• Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) only
• IV certification required — must be verified on Nursys
• Valid U.S. Social Security Number required; Canadian SINs are not accepted
• No gaps in employment of 90+ days within the past 12 months
• No certifications expiring within the first 30 days of assignment unless documented renewal is scheduled
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, lift, and turn patients with assistance; push, pull, and grip up to 50 lbs; pinch up to 15 lbs

Additional Information

• Performs direct patient care including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation across all age groups
• Monitors and coordinates patient care activities with ancillary departments to optimize patient outcomes
• High-risk exposure to blood and body fluids
• Black scrubs required
• Flu vaccination or a Mercy-approved exemption is required for assignments running November 1 through April 1; declinations are not accepted
• Up to 5 days of RTO is allowed but must be made up during the assignment; only 1 holiday RTO request is permitted per assignment
• Candidates residing within 50 miles of the facility are eligible but subject to a reduced bill rate
• Candidates living within 50 miles of the facility are limited to 3 consecutive 13-week contracts; after that, a minimum 1-year separation or transfer to a facility outside the 50-mile radius is required
• The facility is a Level 2 Trauma Center, Joint Commission Comprehensive Stroke Center, and Level 1 STEMI Center
