American Traveler is hiring a travel LPN for a Med/Surg night shift position in Saint Louis, MO, requiring 1 year of acute care Med/Surg experience and current IV certification.

Details

• Located in Saint Louis, MO at a Level 2 Trauma Center and Joint Commission Comprehensive Stroke Center
• 60-bed Medical unit (7 West) serving a general medical patient population
• Patient ratio of 1:5-6
• Equipment includes bladder scanner, vein finder, IV pumps, and wound vacs
• EMR: Epic
• Night shift schedule, 1900–0730
• 36 or 48 hours per week available
• Every other weekend required
• No on-call requirements
• May float to a similar or lower acuity unit as needed

Requirements

• Current LPN license — must be eligible for licensure in Missouri or currently licensed in Missouri (license required if applicable)
• Minimum 1 year of Med/Surg experience in an acute care hospital
• Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) only
• IV certification required — must be verified on Nursys
• Valid U.S. Social Security Number required
• No employment gaps of 90+ days within the past 12 months
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, lift, and turn patients with assistance; push, pull, and grip up to 50 lbs; pinch up to 15 lbs

Additional Information

• Provides direct patient care for all age groups, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of the nursing process
• Coordinates patient care activities with ancillary departments to optimize patient care and comfort
• Functions within the scope of LPN practice in accordance with the Missouri Nurse Practice Act
• High-risk exposure to blood and body fluids
• Black scrubs required
• Flu vaccination or a Mercy-approved exemption is required for all travelers from November 1 through April 1; declinations are not accepted
• Up to 5 days of RTO allowed, but must be made up during the assignment; only 1 holiday RTO request allowed per assignment
• Candidates living within 50 miles of the facility are eligible but subject to a reduced bill rate
• Candidates within 50 miles are limited to 3 consecutive 13-week contracts before a 1-year separation or transfer to a facility outside the 50-mile radius is required
