Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced ICU RN for a 12-week night shift contract requiring ACLS, BLS, and telemetry experience in a critical care setting.

Details

• 14-bed ICU unit in a hospital setting
• Medical patient population including alcohol withdrawal, acute respiratory distress, COPD, GI bleed, drug overdose, and COVID
• Occasional post-surgical patients including carotids, VATS, and CEAs (carotid endarterectomies)
• Patients frequently requiring mechanical ventilation, vasopressors, arterial lines, and chest tubes
• Patient ratio of 1:1 or 1:2
• ICU serves as the code team and rapid response team
• Intensivists on staff during day shift; NPs available during night shift
• Night shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts, 18:45–07:15
• Cerner EMR experience is a plus

Requirements

• Active MA RN license required
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Minimum experience in critical care/ICU nursing required
• Telemetry experience required, including interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
• Pulmonary artery line/Swan-Ganz monitoring experience required
• Experience with continuous IV sedation and procedural sedation administration required
• 2 professional references from a supervisor within the past 2 years
• Full 7-year work history with all gaps explained

Additional Information

• Responsibilities include managing critically ill medical and surgical patients on ventilators, vasopressors, arterial lines, and chest tubes
• Participates in code response and rapid response team activations
