American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Progressive Care Unit (PCU) position specializing in surgical trauma and telemetry monitoring, with night shift availability and Epic EMR experience required.

Details

• 41-bed progressive care trauma/telemetry unit in a hospital setting, primarily serving adult patients requiring post-surgical care following traumatic injury
• Patient population includes individuals with injuries related to gunshot wounds, penetrating trauma, assaults, motor vehicle crashes, and falls — all hemodynamically stable
• Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:4, flexing to 1:5 as needed
• Unit is equipped with telemetry monitoring for up to 14 patients
• Night shift: 3x12-hour shifts, 19:00–07:30
• 6 weekend shifts per every 6-week schedule
• 36 hours per week
• Floating to other Prisma Health units and/or campuses may be required based on census needs; staff will only float to units for which competencies are qualified and documented
• Interdisciplinary support available including IV Teams, Physical Therapy, Respiratory Services, Phlebotomy, Radiology, Social Services, Rapid Response Teams, Pharmacy, and more

Requirements

• Active RN license — South Carolina or Compact license required
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS (AHA), NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS), and Telemetry (TELE)
• Minimum 1 year of recent PCU experience required
• Minimum 1 year of Epic EMR experience required
• Must reside 50+ miles from the contracted campus (Prisma Health Richland) to be eligible for this position
• Two professional references required for consideration
• Driver's license and Social Security Number required for consideration

Additional Information

• Provide progressive care nursing to adult surgical trauma patients in a telemetry-capable unit
• Medication competency test required
• First-time travelers with at least 2 years of relevant experience are welcome to apply
• Night shift travelers for this unit must live 50+ miles from the Prisma Health Richland campus; candidates under 50 miles are ineligible regardless of other Prisma facility distances
